Brave drops all login sessions upon every single update

Description of the issue:

Brave Browser drops all login sessions after Brave updates.
In these cases, all logged in sites require to be logged in again.
Examples: Gmail, Reddit, LinkedIn, etc.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary):

  1. Have the options “Continue where you left off” and “Allow sites to save data” enabled in Brave
  2. Log in to various sites
  3. Close Brave
  4. Restart machine
  5. Open Brave and update
  6. Restart machine
  7. Open Brave
  8. Notice that all sites are now logged off

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

All the previously logged in sites are logged off after the update and machine restart.

Expected result:

Brave keeps the login sessions on all sites at all times.

Reproduces how often:

After every update.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

Windows 10

Brave 1.97.56 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

This issue has been a long standing issue across multiple Brave versions from a long time ago.
The issue persists even with the “Continue where you left off” and “Allow sites to save data” options enabled.

No cleaner or optimization applications are in operation and other browsers do not produce this issue, only Brave (tested with Firefox, Chrome, etc.).

No data is set to clear “On Exit”.

Please fix this, as it is very tedious and I am thinking of leaving Brave behind due to this.

Thank you very much!

Extension changes state Uncertain → An extension’s state can depend on the extension itself, Brave’s extension lifecycle, stored extension data, or the reason the browser was restarted.

Extensions Testing Steps:

  • test by disabling all extensions
  • test by enabling each extension individually
  • test by uninstalling all extensions
  • test by installing each extension individually
  • test order of installation of extensions
  • test combinations of extensions"

Thank you!

No extensions are installed.
Issue persists with vanilla Brave.
