Brave Browser AND Brave Search Blocked by Company

The company I work for has over 25,000 employees. In July 2025, they decided to eliminate Brave browser and Brave search.

Forced uninstall of Brave browser due to:
*The browser based DNS being separate from the system and the ability for it to bypass DNS filters
*The private Tor window option
*Other unspecified issues

search.brave.com has been blacklisted/blocked due to:
*Brave did not use a subdomain for downloads, so the whole brave.com site is being blocked.

I had 5 links of similar topics, but I was not allowed to include them in my first post. It said new users cannot post more than 4 links, but when I deleted some to get under 4, it still would not allow posting, so I removed all of them.

Brave might want to figure out how to address these two issues if they want to stay relevant.

That is unfortunate but I’m not entirely sure what it is you’re asking for here. Many companies prohibit the use of certain softwares (browser included) for a variety of reasons. Some of the reasons Brave was not likely allowed at your work place is part of the very reason many people use it – because of the included privacy, security and anonymity that comes with using the browser.

Many have asked for a business version of Brave with Tor disabled. This might be a resolution?

Brave have group policy that can be used to disable Tor https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039248271-Group-Policy

Also, Brave could use different subdomains for the Brave browser download page and search.brave.com so that if a company blocks the browser download, Brave search could still be available.

Yes, Group Policy can be used to disable certain features but that’s not something we do on our end. That is up to the individual and/or company installing the browser on their machine to do.
