I have tried turning off hardware acceleration setting, switched Choose ANGLE graphics backend settings to default, updated drivers, reinstalled Brave, and restarted pc didn’t fix this problem.

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  2. Wait for a second

  3. Monitor goes complete black screen or shows flickers for a brief moment

Expected result: Brave Browser should open with no issues

screen recording didn’t capture the issue so I recorded a video on my phone, but new users cannot upload files

Please upload files to something like https://storage.to.

I see what you’re saying. May I clarify that no other browser that you have installed has this problem?

I just tested with opera gx and it had the same problem. It’s incosistent. Sometimes screen goes black when closing the browser, sometimes goes black when I launch it, sometimes it’s fine, sometime it’s just part of my screen flickering like the bottom of my screen

Many Chromium browsers have this behaviour, so I’d not be too concerned. I wouldn’t call it a bug, but still it does take a little long I guess?

So, It’s not damaging or affecting my pc in anyway?

it was spotify, I’m experiencing this probelm with any browser but only when I have a spotify tab open.

No, this is quite ordinary. This is not causing any damage to your PC at all, but it’s just Brave (as well as any other browser) loading. A lot of code has to run to start up a browser, in simplest terms.

Additionally, you mention Spotify being the main cause of the slowness. This is quite likely caused by the relatively higher resource requirements compared to loading a webpage. The simplest solution to improve startup performance is this:

  1. Enable Hardware Acceleration (better video playback performance).
  2. Enable Brave to open a new tab on startup, rather than “continuing where you left off”, and creating bookmarks for tabs like Spotify to open when you wish.
