you can use ctrl-D to make a bookmark. You also can go to the hamburger menu in the top right corner and go to bookmarks->bookmark this page. hope this helps
EDIT: THIS IS WRONG. Read post bellow vvvv
Hi @siemowit,
No. Thereās no way to add bookmark tag for now. Logged issue here https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/1057
Thanks

Does anyone know a work-around solution for this?
In other browsers, it is a very convenient way to find web pages,
by searching on oneās own key word category or ātag.ā
How can this be done in Brave browser, is there any way?
thanks in advance
Has there been any update regarding this issue? I would love to sort my bookmarks by #tags if I could.
The feature that I miss (from firefox) is that tags can be used as aliases for urls with parameters. So that a tag named āprefā for ā http://example.com/preferences#%sā can be referenced as āpref colorā and resolve to āhttp://example.com/preferences#colorā
Iād like to see this too.
iāve been using #hashtags in the name. It works well. There are some extensions that will also use them, but I havenāt found any need to go above and beyond that yet. The extension does let you see what hashtags youāve used tho.
Just want to add my comment here too. I have a vast amount of bookmarks (I do a lot of research, as well as hobby stuff too, and politicsā¦) and without a means of keeping things searchable (And ideally being able to make notes too) the bookmarks are as good as useless. Imagine walking into a library where there was no system of order. Fiction mixed with non fiction, history with medicine, fantasy with building BBQās! That would be a wealth of knowledge that serves nobody. Same for bookmarks!
Please can this be fixed at some stage. I have even resorted to using a spreadsheet with URLās and respective ātagsā and notes, but that is inconvenient to say the least.
Iād love to have ability to tag bookmarks
I like the idea of tags, but for me, it could even be a separate feature, not related to bookmarks: add a tag to a webpage with one click and it will be saved and youāll be able to find it back easily. AI could even suggest tags based on the page content.
The āurls with parametersā functionality has been available in Chromium-based browsers for a long time. If you search for āSite Searchā in Settings, youāll find it.
Bookmarks can be tagged simply by editing their name. If you add a hashtag to a bookmark and then type the hashtag in the address bar, it will suggest the bookmark to you.
Itās clear that managing bookmarks has become quite the challenge, given your diverse interests spanning research, hobbies, and politics. Without a searchable and organized system, bookmarks can feel like a jumbled libraryāimagine fiction mixed with non-fiction or history mingling with medicine. such as zimeton Itās a wealth of knowledge that loses its value when itās hard to navigate. Your workaround using spreadsheets with URLs, tags, and notes shows how much you value organization, but itās understandably inconvenient.
I have now spent about 30 hours trying Brave and to organize myself.
Because Bookmarks often fit into multiple categories / folders tagging bookmarks is the solution, as found in Firefox.
In FF I also can save a bookmark in multiple folders. In Brave a bookmark only can be in one folder, as soon as the bookmark is saved in a second folder, it is deleted from the first one. So there is no way in Brave to store bookmarks or tabs according to multiple matching criteria, which is almost always a requirement.
As I can see this feature āsearchable tags for bookmarksā has been requested for a long time and has not been implemented. This tells me that it has no priority for the developers and it will not be implemented in the future.
This forces me to stop using Brave and to go back to Firefox, although there is a lot I like about Brave and dislike about Mozilla.
Tabgroups are implemented nice but miss a sort option and the option to add an open Tab to multiple Tabgroups which they would fit by various subjects / criteria.
So anything that is required to manage a large number of open tabs or of a large number of saved bookmarks cannot be organized in a useful way in Brave.
Brave is suitable perfectly for users that only open one Browsing Window with maximal 10 tabs. It would be nice if Brave would state this limitation clearly for users. Actually Brave could also ditch the functions for Tabgroups and for Bookmarks for this kind of users, because they can just leave the 10 tabs always open.
I may use Brave occasionally when I want more security and privacy, but for managing my daily browsing, Brave is not suitable due to the lack of functionality.
I also have done a comparison of memory and cpu consumption between Brave and Firefox if multiple Windows with multiple tabs are open. Brave uses between 10 and 1000 times more resources. I have opened the same Windows with the same tabs, then closed the browser, then re-opened the browser and then issued a reload in all Browser windows.
I have very easily managed to freeze my PC (Archlinux, 64GB RAM, powerful CPU) by opening four Brave Windows with > 30 Tabs each. So this also indicates that Brave is developed for users that do not use many Windows with multiple tabs open.
