Bookmarks in Brave IOS App keep reverting to mobile bookmarks

Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. **Description of the issue: If you go to bookmarks on the Brave IOS app, it keeps defaulting to the “mobile bookmarks” option, rather than the “bookmarks bar” I use. Even if you got to the “bookmarks bar” and click on a link, next time you click on bookmarks, it still takes you back to “mobile bookmarks”.

This is very annoying as I sync bookmarks from the Brave Browser on my laptop, so I want to see “bookmark bar” when I click on the bookmarks button.**

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. As above - go to bookmarks on the Brave IOS app and it defaults to the “mobile bookmarks” option. Even if you got to the “bookmarks bar” and click on a link, next time you click on bookmarks, it still takes you back to “mobile bookmarks”.

Expected result: Bookmarks should stay in the bookmarks last used - whether that be “mobile bookmarks” or “bookmarks bar”

Not sure what you mean sorry? The bookmarks bar/mobile bookmarks has always been in Brave IOS app. The issue is that it keeps defaulting to mobile bookmarks.

Huh. I probably have never seen a Bookmarks Bar in Brave Browser (iOS), because I don’t use a Bookmarks Bar, and I edit my bookmarks.html files (they are different for computer and mobile phone) in order to exclude the appearance of the Bookmarks Bar (and its bookmarks).

Duh. I just now remembered.

@HiatusState So just to clarify, the bug is that your last opened position in bookmarks is not being restored upon opening bookmarks a second time?

Can you double check that the “Show Last Visited Bookmarks” setting is turned on in Brave’s settings page? (In the General section, just below Sync)

Apologies - the “Show Last Visited Bookmarks” setting had somehow turned itself off. I have turned it back on and the problem is now fixed.
