Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!): when I go to bookmarks management the 3 dots that are supposed to be in the right corner are missing. They aren’t invisible since I’ve gone over that entire right side area (or the location is so small that I’ve missed it which means it should be bigger). I’ve tried switching from dark mode to light mode that didn’t help. I’ve tried changing my display resolution so that I could make the browser’s viewing area larger and they weren’t there.
Expected result: Find the 3 dots in the right corner
Reproduces how often: every time
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu): MacOs Sequoia 15.7.5 Brave is up to date Brave 1.89.145 (Official Build) (arm64) Chromium: 147.0.7727.137
You might create an extra- Brave Browser user profile, for testing. Visit a couple sites, bookmark them, and see if you can export.
Create a new user Profile for Testing:
Create and use AN ADDITIONAL Brave Browser user Profile (Menu --> More tools --> Add profile) - only ← meaning: Do not have any other Brave Browser user Profile tabs/windows open.
When creating this new Brave Browser user Profile for test purposes
Do not import anything.
Do not add any extensions.
Do not allow/enable any Brave Browser “bells and whistles” such as Brave Rewards, Brave Talk, etc.
IF this test Brave Browser user Profile does not present your problem, then possibly, the profile that you have been using, has a problem . . . and that might be caused by one or more extensions, or too many tabs ← complex/conundrum.
@daylight54 I would also be interested to see if this is the same in a fresh profile. Just confirmed that it’s still appearing on my end and it looks fine on both my macOS and Windows systems
Your original / initial / default Brave Browser user profile data is stored in the Default folder: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default
The 1st additional Brave Browser user profile that you create - its user data is in the ‘Profile 1’ folder: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Profile 1
The 2nd additional Brave Browser user profile that you create - its user data is in the ‘Profile 2’ folder: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Profile 2
… and so on.
In the user profiles’ data folders, ‘Default’, ‘Profile 1’, etc., you will find the bookmarks file - named ‘Bookmarks’.
With Brave Browser NOT running, you can copy that ‘Bookmarks’ file from one user profile’s data folder (such as ‘Default’) to another user profile’s data folder (such as ‘Profile 1’).
Actually I wanted to try and find the cause of the difference in the UI with the two profiles for Bookmarks Manager. I turned off all my extensions and where I was in developers mode and it fixed the original profile. When I turned everything back on it was still fixed.
