Description of the issue: When importing bookmarks, it creates a folder with all of them instead of extracting them to appear on the bar. It’s never done that before, it always “unzips” them.
I believe this is actually how it’s always been. But at any rate I don’t believe it’s a bug. The bookmarks bar can be customized by moving them out of the imported folder and into the main bookmarks folder.
I am 90% sure that’s been the case as well, it always goes in a folder named something like “Imported Bookmarks” because it could be from any browser, and organize in any way, therefore it makes no assumptions as to which is the bar, which is the Bookmark menu, etc.
(I haven’t tested Firefox, but I am almost certain Firefox does the same thing as well.)
Not for me. They have always appeared separated on the Bar, never in the folder titled “Bookmarks” when I import from a Brave saved file on the desktop that self titles itself “Bookmarks” with the Date at the end.
@Scooter55 not sure how that’s possible but here is a post from back in 2020 where a user is asking for something similar, noting that the imported bookmarks are organized in an Imported folder:
I fixed it. I deleted the folder it put there, got rid of the option for “show tab groups”, then did an import of the Bookmarks file… Now all my 400 something Bookmarks are separate of any folder..
