Automatically download certain file types?

Is there a way to get Brave to automatically download all files of a certain file type? I often like to read text documents after downloading to my desktop, but PDFs I usually prefer to read in my browser. I see the option for not having brave ask, and automatically sending everything to my download folder of choice. But can Brave do different things for different file types?

Version 1.10.64 Chromium: 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) beta (64-bit) if it matters but I don’t think it does.

In general no – most files are either files that you will download to your machine, or files that you download and open in Brave (which is mostly just PDFs).

If you download a file to your desktop, once it’s there, anywhere it’s opened from will open it in the app the OS has configured it to use. You can set these yourself by going to Start --> Settings --> Apps --> Default Apps
