App unusable after setting Brave Search via website

Description of the issue:

When setting Brave Search as the default search engine via search.brave.com, the browser become unusable on the next launch.
After closing Brave Browser, it repeatedly force closes on startup until the app data is cleaned.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave Browser.

  2. Go to search.brave.com/settings.

  3. Set Brave Search as the default search, as recommended.

  4. Close and re-open Brave Browser.

Expected result:

Brave Browser should work properly.
