All my history and logins are wiped after latest "profile" update


Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Don’t know. by updating to Brave 1.85.111 (Official Build) (64-bit)

    Chromium: 143.0.7499.40 ?

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave 1.85.111 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Chromium: 143.0.7499.40

Additional Information:

After this update yesterday with the profiles and whatnot, every account is on every website is logged out and my history is wiped. Why?

edit: and all my extensions are gone. wtf?

Being forced to profiles has meant I too have lost my historical pre-profile state. Also I really don’t want Brave trying to use my Google Chrome profiles. Can I get my old Brave state, and also block Brave from looking at my Google Chrome profiles?

@oftankoftan are you using Brave Sync at this time on that device?

Brave is not “looking at” or “using” your Google Chrome profiles unless you imported your profile data on install. Other than that, your Chrome profile has nothing to do with your Brave browser/profile(s).

Interesting. If I click on the profiles available to Brave, 3 of them are Google Chrome profiles.

@sink128 not sure what you mean by this. Can you please open a thread here on Community in Browser Support > Desktop Support and share some screenshots of what you’re seeing on your end (in addition to the rest of the requested information)?
