All active tabs gone after latest update. (Android, F-Droid)

Description of the issue:

After updating to the latest Brave version from F-Droid, all of my avtive tabs and tab groups have disappeared. Inactive tabs and tab groups are unaffected. The lost tabs and tab groups do not appear under “recently closed tabs”.

I can find no information online how to restore a backup session on Android as can be done on desktop. This appears to be a reoccurring issue with the Brave project, and the fact that there is no apparent backup mechanism to prevent this by now is unacceptable.

How can this issue be reproduced?

Update: the missing tabs still show up in the results if I search my tabs, but I can’t open them by selecting them there. Checking synced tabs from another device also seems to imply that they’re still open.

Closing the new tab that opened on launch, marking the one tab group I had brought out of inactivity as inactive again, and restarting the app seems to have resolved the issue.

This is still definitely a bug the needs to be fixed, though.
