Description of the issue: Ads have started appearing
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): Visit a site with ads
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!): Ads displayed
Expected result: ads blocked
Reproduces how often: Always
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu): Windows 10, Brave 1.88.134
Additional Information: When looking in brave://components/ every component related to ad blocking is version 0.0.0.0 Status - Update Error
Trying to visit https://components.brave.com says it can not find the DNS address.
I am using Google DNS. (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4)
I have also tried Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1)
I have tried running Brave as admin
It didn’t make a difference.
Ads started showing up a couple of days ago. I didn’t make any changes. I think Brave might have updated… I can’t remember.
What to do?
UPDATE: Uninstalling and delting the brave folders in User/AppData/local and then reinstalling fixed it.
