This is the main reason why I switched off of Chrome. Please bring the old tab option back .

Please change back. This update was horrible

Google policy regarding Chromium is a kind of, let’s say, “software putinism”, they absolutely ignore users’ opinions and force changes that nobody wants.
Wishing Brave to be brave and to fight against this crazy decisions.
Please recreate the cascade tab layout, I feel really sad seeing Brave committing suicide…

I have also just created an account to complain about this. These annoying little tiles are horrible and are also the very reason why I left Chrome in the 1st place. It will be the same reason that will make me leave Brave for another browser. Samsung Internet Browser is ok on this issue. Testing Opera now.

Thanks for info, going to test Samsung and Opera too.

Bring the Stacked view/Cascade back.
Brave is getting more like chrome day by day and it’s completely against the reason why we use brave.

Yep, here to say I will be reverting to old version because I wont use this grid shite.

2 years of people complaining about it on chrome, then you went and fuct it up too.

Please bring back old tab view. Current one is inconvenient for mobile screens, plus animation is rather sluggish.

As a fellow coder i get it that you can solve tickets as matter-of-factly as stated in the log.

But unless you are completely out of touch with your user base, you should have had an idea of the controversy of this change.

Yes the product is free and Brave can remove the old tab view, but Brave will lose users in the process and that includes me.

So, please reconsider the change.

Adding here as well that I will be leaving Brave if the option to turn the atrocious grid off isn’t added in the next couple of updates.

Absolutely. It’s why I stopped using chrome. I use a vpn so I don’t need Brave’s ad blocking. I’m probably moving to Samsung internet until this gets fixed. It’s slower, but it’s a lot easier to navigate one handed.

It turns out that Kiwi Browser is also Chromium based and had the same tabs grid issue but they forked the old code and broke back the cascade option. So it is possible to fix; PLEASE fix this Brave, or I’m permanently going to Kiwi

Seriously. This was a big part of why I left Chrome. Not everyone has a phone bigger than their hand, and the grid layout is illegibly small otherwise, in addition to being completely inefficient. At least give people the option, I really don’t want to have to go shopping around for yet another browser.

Don’t care if it takes more assets. The only thing I care is that they took away the choice.

Where “bsclifton” wrote:

"Thanks for the feedback folks - we’re discussing internally. There unfortunately isn’t just a flag and we’d need to keep and maintain a bunch of patches to keep this functionality (and each Chromium upgrade we’d need to maintain those patches)

We’ll share once we have more information. Thanks for your patience"

And lately

“bsclifton” again:

“It may take several days to work through this (we’ll need to re-home portions of this code and find clean ways to patch it in). We’ll keep you all updated”

That seems to be a good indication, of interest in finding a way to restore the tab display and be able to maintain it.

I literally hate this change, I’m leaving Brave all together unless they bring the option back to switch off tab view.

I switched to Brave for the card view tabs. If you don’t bring them back I’ll switch back to Firefox.
