In the desktop option it is possible to save passwords, I would like to use this option on mobile
This already is and has long been a thing on mobile devices, so I’m a bit confused about your request here…

Ah, I see. Right, so there’s no good way to manually add a website and password just by itself. On mobile it relies on us visiting the website and logging in, at which point it will ask if we would like to save that login.
At least helps in distinguishing the difference between the two. Original phrasing of your topic and body just made it sound like you thought Brave couldn’t save passwords at all on mobile devices.
Would be a really nice feature!
@Lowee my picture is from iOS where it had gotten added. I can’t remember if it’s on android but I think it is. Did you try hitting the ad service button that you show in your screenshot?
I switched from android iPhone a couple years ago and the old android phone that I have sitting in my drawers is really outdated, so it’s hard for me to test certain things like this. Since I haven’t really messed with it much I don’t know off the top of my head.
But let me also be clear that the password manager thing that I’m showing means that it would be used as the default passwords so even if you’re in other apps you can use it.
Beyond that Brave has always saved passwords within its own browser. And you can sync it with your other devices. iOS had been more limiting on auto fill because it required you to do it through the operating system. Android when I’ve used it always allowed the browser to input the passwords from his own browser instead of having to be used through the operating system password manager.

Yes I pressed the “add service” button. But it only opened Google play and showed other products. When searching for brave I just ended up back in the brave app.
But anyway, I thought this feature request was for manually adding passwords into the password manager. Just like one can do in the desktop version.
This is the feature I need. Because I want to store something which is necessarily not a password or at least will never show up in “add to password manager” - it’s the encryption key for my WhatsApp this time, but might be other things other times.
@Lowee looking more thoroughly, it seems you’re right. Needless to say I can get a decent amount of notifications and when original topic posts and titles are as vague as this one, it can be easily mixed up.
So them saying to save passwords, that technically is done on mobile. But you’re right that it can’t be manually added on either mobile version. It just offers to save as you visit the websites.
I guess let me tag in @steeven and @Mattches to see if either might be able to follow up. I don’t see any active Github issues and not sure if should create one or how they’ll handle it.

That is correct, there is no way to do this on Android at this time. Did some digging and looks like this is true for sevearl Chromium based browser, but several others also offer you the option to manually add.
Can I ask why/for what reason you want this particular functionality? Is there a reason an “add password” button is better than just saving your password in the browser when you initially authenticate into the site?
