My goal is to completely remove all uses of Google in my workflows and system usage, while still using my Apple desktop and mobile hardware and operating systems.
I’m a security and privacy fanatic, but at this stage in my life, I no longer have the patience to tolerate the inconvenience and usability penalties that real world implementations of security and privacy have always imposed on end users. I’m a user now, and not a developer or beta-tester. At 70 years old, I think I now deserve to have my cake and eat it, too.
I have a PhD in theoretical computer science, and worked with the academics who made the original developments in the 1970s that created the foundation on which all modern cryptography is built.
I have work experience that goes back to implementations of some of the first SMTP email in a government department not in the USA in the 1980s.
I want Brave to become my only browser for both desktop and mobile (only on Apple, for now).
