Youtube videos loading issue

Hey, I switched to couple days ago and it’s been really great but one big issue tho is youtube videos.
Idk why but when I open a video it takes 15-20 seconds to load but the thing is that its only when opening in a new tab, if I just click on the video it starts instantly with no issue. so really it happens only when opening a video in a new tab like pressing middle mouse button on a video.
Now I’ve tried to disable extensions and private window ect.. but nothing really worked, this issue is pretty weird and I’d really like to find a way to fix this because it’s pretty anoying.
Thank you!!!

btw this is a brand new pc, no vpn, nothing, everything is all new legit and up to date.
i tried new profile, i tried clearing cache, and the issue isn’t really the typical one i’ve seen other have here. its really only to videos that you open ONLY in a new tab

Still nobody has a solution or has the same issue ?

@yahel one part of why you have no answers is you deleted the template and provided no specific details. When you created the topic it would have said everything below:

Please try to adhere to this template when reporting bugs. If you think you don’t need to fill out every section in the template fill out as much of it as you can and please be as descriptive as possible when posting.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

Additional Information:

Having things like the specific version of your OS and Brave is very important. Even moving past that, there’s a lot of questions about the specifics.

To be clear, YouTube has intentionally been slowing videos for people using adblockers. This has been in articles such as:

So no clue if this is what you’re experiencing. I mean do you notice if:

  • Disabling Shields has an impact?
  • Toggling graphics acceleration matters?
  • If this happens in Brave Beta or Brave Nightly?
  • If this happens also on Chrome?

Also to be clear, you’re saying the issue is only when you open a link in a new tab? Also this is only on YouTube and nowhere else?

Are you immediately switching to it or leaving it in the background? Typically opening in a new tab opens in the background and is not immediately active.

sucks to hear y’all been ignoring my question out of pure principle instead of telling me that sooner, or just simply ask me to elaborate.
this site is called brave community not brave researches, i truly thought people in the community would say they have the same issue or found a fix. never thought i’d get ignored because of that reason lol, and all these 126 views are supports like you then that’s really disappointing.

@yahel Just to clarify, I’m just another user who probably spends more time here helping than I should. I don’t work for Brave nor am I paid for anything that I do here.

I used to ask a lot of questions myself, but over time I got discouraged. A big part of that came from seeing people skip over the support template entirely. The site provides it to guide users toward sharing the details needed to troubleshoot, but some, like in your case, just delete it and drop in a vague question with no helpful details.

The community has changed too. People used to read through threads, do some research, and make an effort to help one another. Lately, more users show up with minimal effort and expect someone else to figure things out for them.

What really wore me down was seeing the same types of questions asked over and over, with little care given to clarity or detail. It becomes hard to stay motivated when it’s clear the poster hasn’t taken the time to help others help them. Or when answers are already there but they have chosen not to actually look.

I think the Brave team responds best when users meet them halfway by providing the needed info upfront. It shouldn’t fall on them to chase down basic details, especially when the form already asked for them and they were simply deleted and ignored.
