YouTube Playlist stops background playback after a few songs on iOS

Description of the issue:
When playing a YouTube playlist, background playback (lock screen player) stops working correctly after a few songs. The video continues to play only if the app is open, but once the screen is locked, the audio cuts out and the Brave player disappears from the lock screen. A full app restart is required to fix it temporarily.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open any YouTube playlist in Brave on iOS.

  2. Enable “Background Play” in settings.

  3. Start playing the playlist and lock the screen.

  4. Let it skip through 3-4 songs automatically.

  5. Notice that eventually, the next song fails to trigger the lock screen controls and stops playing when the screen is off.

Expected result:
Brave should maintain continuous background playback and remain visible on the lock screen/control center throughout the entire playlist.

Brave Version:
v1.89

Mobile Device details:
iPhone 14 Pro

Additional Information:
The issue seems related to how Brave’s native player handles playlist transitions. Only a restart of the app restores the background play functionality.

Not only in IOS. I have android and it also happens to me as well. In my case playback resumes once i turn the screen on. Brave 1.89.145 and in destktop mode. Samung A345G

EDIT: It took 2 minutes but the song resumed by itself. played the song and then it stopped again. Then 2 minutes later it resumes again by itself and then it keeps playing till know. I will keep investigating.

EDIT: I listened to the full album and the same thing happened 1 or 2 times more, although in a shorter timeline.
