Youtube has detected ad blockers and I can't view the videos on Youtube with Brave anymore

I suggest using Youtube Ad Auto Skipper extension until Brave fixes this issue

that’s what im using

So I am running Brave on Windows 7 Home Ed 64Bit. A couple of days ago I got the pop-up from YT they don’t allow ad blockers and for me to allow ads but I X’d it out. Then a couple of days later I was not locked out but started getting ads again. I do not know if Shield is enabled because I do not see the setting for that in the version 1.47.186. It only asks if I want to show how many ads blocked on the shield. I tried installed AdBlock but that ruined everything and I had to reinstall Brave and its still changing settings like dark mode over and over again. Is there anything else I can do? Not sure how I get notified on response so I will check back here. Thank you

Never mind. I replayed a video and was able to skip then opened new YT window to test again and could not see thumbnails as scripts got disabled so I reenabled and now the ads are back. Alas.

I found a solution.
Press F12.
Go to the mobile version icon.
Change the dimensions (iPad).
Try to manage it on that version.

My Vivaldi browser is still block YT ads so I guess I will use it and maybe look at Epic until Brave can sort this out… Any updates appreciated.

Yup windows user brave browser everything is updated and so forth and getting you tube pop ups talking about ads, I can close it and still watch YouTube ad free it seems but thought you should know they rocking there pop ups again.

Youtube started again to block ad-blockers

updated “Brave Ad-block updater” to the latest version to 1.0.12512, but still Youtube video is not running.

EDIT 2: After a few hours, my youtube is working again with the account I use for YT. Thank you Brave team!

EDIT 1: I just used another account, and I could finally play the video. Not fun, I follow a ton of people on my other account. I hope this gets resolved soon

Initial post:
Same here. I’ve updated all my settings, but I still get the adblock issue. I did try the incognito window and the videos worked fine. How can I resolve the issue if it’s account related?

I have had this issue for months where youtube videos wouldnt load after 30 seconds, it still does it on brave

Same problem, idk what to do

It seems to be account bound I did all the steps and it didn’t work but the moment I entered a new email address it doesn’t give me the pop up regarding the ads.

This new round appears to be account related, I use Brave with uBO and was unable to view anything, tried updates etc all the usual steps but still nothing, I then logged out and refreshed a video and hey presto it played. The only thing that changed was I logged out.

Just Update Brave Browser, it will work again

You mean adblocker or ublocker?

No, it doesn’t. I can only watch you tube videos if I log out of my account, or use Brave Nightly at the moment.

adblocker, not ublocker.

I’ve tried every suggestion mentioned on this page, but unfortunately, none of them worked. For context, I’m using the latest Brave release: v1.79.119 (Chromium 137.0.7151.68).

What I strongly recommend is disabling Brave Shields when browsing YouTube and using the latest version of uBlock Origin Lite directly from GitHub:

It’s best to use it in unpacked mode rather than installing it from the Chrome Web Store. This way, you always get the latest updates and fixes right away. And yes, it works with my account logged in!

It’s honestly impressive and a bit disappointing that a single developer (Raymond Hill) consistently delivers better results than an entire team behind a privacy-focused browser like Brave.

The only working solution for me was to disable Brave Shields and enable uBlock Origin with Privacy badger extension.

You’re an awesome genius man. I did everything you said and not sure which step/steps in particular did the trick, but it’s working fine again for me now. You’re a gem and a true credit to the community. Thanks a lot.
