Youtube errors when trying to go full screen

After updating Brave today from the app store (updated to v1.94(144)), along with the Content Filters, my iPad on iOS 27 beta 4 will no longer allow full screen.

When I click on the full screen icon in the lower right of the video, it states…

“Your browser doesn’t support full screen”

  • I had no issues last night prior to the update
    • I know that I am on an iOS beta but that did not appear to have any previous issues for a long time now, though perhaps it now does with the latest Brave?
  • I am currently in Desktop mode
    • when I switch over to Mobile then it will allow for full screen, though the three dot icon in the lower right does not do anything (those are normally to save to playlists, etc)
  • I tried to disable the shields but that did not correct it
  • I cleared all cache/cookies but that did not correct it
  • private browsing mode does not correct it

Steps:

  1. on iOS (on an iPad) update Brave browser to v1.94(144)
  2. set the browser to Desktop mode
  3. open up Youtube with shields set to aggressive
  4. when the video plays try and click to go to full screen

Edit:

regarding the 3 dots not doing anything in Mobile mode, I noticed that the CC was auto enabled and when I turned that off then the menu for saving to playlists started working once more

I have the same problem on iPadOS 26.5.2 after updating to Brave 1.92 but with standard shield. No matter which yt video in desktop mode:

This was already often a problem in versions 1.91 and 1.90 when loading a video in the background, but reloading the page or restarting the browser remedied it. Now, no more.

I also have this issue on ipad os 26.6 with the latest brave version!

Same issue. After updating brave browser to Version 1.92 on ipad, YouTube video cannot go fullscreen on desktop mode, only in mobile mode. But YouTube mobile mode on ipad sucks.

Until this is resolved, I have been using Duckduckgo in desktop mode and it’s new ad blocker as a workaround since it does full screen without issue.

Just downloaded iOS version 1.93 (136) and I am now able to put YT in full screen while in desktop mode.
