Why does Brave need accessibility access to my mac?

Description of the issue:
Brave spawned a system dialogue asking for accessibility access in the Security & Privacy settings of my mac. I’d like to know why Brave wants this access?

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Install Brave on a Mac
  2. Notice that brave asks for permission to control the computer through the security & privacy settings in system preferences

Description of event: Upon browsing a website, Brave spawned a window asking permission to use my Accessibility Settings.

Environment: Brave Version 0.61.51 Chromium: 73.0.3683.75 (Official Build) (64-bit), running on macOS 10.14.3

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Browse websites for about 5 minutes, enabling java on each website.
  2. Land at youtube.com; enable java via the toolbar, refresh page.
  3. Click on video.
  4. Accessibility Settings window appears.

Actual Result: Operating System spawns window, asking for settings permissions to be modified.

Expected Result: No event, browsing is uninterrupted.

Reproducible on current live release: No

Additional Notes: Upon opening the Brave Browser.app application contents via finder, this Provisioning Profile was found… Unexpectedly.
