@gassedgas you have said nothing wrong. @Mattches often does not actively work here on Brave Community on weekends, hence the past couple days of silence. And he did not post today so I’m guessing he might have had the day off as well.
I know he’ll try to follow up here in a bit and likely has some of the dev team looking into things. If he’s not back tomorrow then I’ll tag others from Brave so they can provide any feedback or follow-up.
@gassedgas doesn’t look like we’re seeing this on our end. Can I ask if you installed the browser via a package manager like snap or flatpak? Or via apt instructions on our website (brave.com/linux)?
Yeah I would try that out. You should uninstall first yes, but don’t delete your profile data. You might even want to make a safe copy of it just to be sure (just copy the ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/ directory to somewhere safe.
Then install from brave.com/linux and see if the issue occurs there too and let me know.
is there a simple guide or a video guide that you recommend for copying the profile folder as a backup and re-utilizing it? because it failed to me when i tried..
it is tiring to configure everything from scratch when you switch between installations..
