Early Leo Premium user. There is obviously some major ongoing issues with Leo that have gone unresolved like being able to copy from the Leo window, which is a pretty big deal. The recent update seemed to introduce more issues even if resolved the issue with the renderer stripping indexes[1]. With the release of Origin as a paid product as well, and its footprint being all Windows normie machines, how is support for Leo looking for the future? Bug reports are being aggressively addressed for Origin with it being the new, more lucrative revenue stream. Is Leo just going to languish in the acquisition treadmill with “privacy” being the selling point, even if you can’t copy from the product, anthropic models constantly time out or fail, etc? Has it peaked and Brave is moving on? The new revenue stream is literally anti-thetical to Leo, and the rollout and support has been so rough Brave has likely already shed a great deal of premium users. I have two annual licenses that just recently renewed but at this point I think the product is becoming to disappointing to invest in. Links to fill out premium user tickets are a performative insult if an issue has been known about for 8-10 months and left unresolved.
Not sure what kind of answer you’re looking for here – Leo, just like the browser, any other Premium product or feature we offer – will be improved, updated and fixed as we move forward.
By this you mean that Origin allows you to disable Leo (if desired) and which is anti-thetical to users purchasing the Premium product and using it? If so, that’s not really the case. These are separate offerings for separate types of users with different browsing habits. In addition, we also have the nice middle-ground option, where users can go the “upgrade” path for Origin and still use Leo if desired, while disabling other browser features they’re not interested in. If anything I’d argue this works quite nicely with Leo (and any other Premium product) as it is now not an “all or nothing” choice.
This seems like just a bit of speculation and it does not hold much of water. We’re doing quite well with respect to Premium subscriptions, thanks! And thank you to all users who purchase our Premium products and submit feedback about issues and work with us to improve our browser and products.
If you have a specific Leo issue you’re referring to (outside of the one mentioned below), can you please add a bit more detail about the specific issue? I’m not familiar with any issue describing Leo “stripping indexes”.
You mean copying Leo’s replies from the Window to somewhere else?
Issue #52919, 54847, 56162 for inability to copy from the window. Extremely well documented. You could reproduce it yourself in 2 minutes.
Stripped brackets was well documented in #50865 in Nov 2025. Since then you could not generate code with bracketed integers because leos markdown renderer treated them as footnote citations with no reference and stripped them. #50865 was ignored. Those frustrated devs probably found another tool. #54172 in April 2026 was ignored. Those devs probably left too.
I guess somebodys special someone reported it again on May 5th, #55248, in a sloppy report more poorly word than the previous reports, but he CCd a bunch of bros. All of sudden it’s “not ideal” and gets fixed a couple weeks later and is recognized in the patch notes. Is CCing the bros the key?
Premium usage grants access to large parameter models. Large parameter models are typically used for engineering use case, typically software. I don’t see a lot of software engineering usage on a platform that couldn’t generate code that contained bracketed integers for 9 months. I have a very difficult time believing there is a large amount of premium users. Maybe they found uses other than engineering. You can’t copy out of Leo after one copy/paste interaction with a terminal so IoT guys probably aren’t using it a ton.
There are other issues but I’m saving my energy till existing issues get fixed. No point in contributing to a one side endeavor.

Give it another month of copy being unresolved and I’ll have an uncensored Qwen3 model converted into sockaccountLLM rotating through ProtonVPN IPs creating github issues for it with AI generated images for every operating system every 5 min.
