Webpage area remains black after restoring a fullscreen Brave window on macOS

Description of the issue:
When I log back into my MacBook Pro after logging out, Brave automatically restores a window that was previously open in macOS fullscreen mode, including the website that was open. The browser menus appear correctly and remain functional, but the area where the webpage should be displayed is completely black. The webpage content becomes visible only after I change the window size.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Use a MacBook Pro with two external displays connected and the laptop lid open.

  2. Open a website in Brave and put the Brave window in macOS fullscreen mode.

  3. Log out of the macOS user account while the fullscreen Brave window is open.

  4. Log back into the account and let Brave restore the window.

  5. Observe the webpage area before changing the window size.

Expected result:
The restored fullscreen window should display the previously open website immediately, without requiring a window resize.

Brave Version (check About Brave):
Brave 1.96.59 (Official Build) (arm64)
Chromium 154.0.8037.58

Additional Information:
macOS 26.7.1 (25G241)
MacBook Pro with M3 Pro, connected to two external displays with the laptop lid open. The browser menus remain visible and functional while the webpage area is black. Changing the window size makes the webpage content appear.

Interesting – this setup you’re using is the exact same one I"m using right now but I don’t seem to have this issue.

Can you tell me if you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time and whether disabling them makes any difference?
