# Very sluggish typing in search bar

**Description of the issue:**  
**How can this issue be reproduced?**

1. Open a new tab (incognito or not, doesn’t matter)
2. Start typing in the search bar
3. Notice massive lag when typing

**Expected result:**  
Should be able to type at normal speed

**Brave Version( check `About Brave`):**

### **v1.76.74**

**Additional Information:**  
This still happens even when I’ve just freshly quit and restarted Brave. No extensions running, no tabs open. I tried changing the search engine, but that doesn’t matter. I don’t think it’s actually the search requests that are slow, it’s something in Brave itself.

I took a screen recording, but the system won’t let me upload it because I’m a “new user”.

Can you please try testing this behavior in a fresh browser profile (`Menu --> More tools --> Add profile`) and tell me if the issue occurs in the new profile as well? Make sure you close your original profile window when testing (you’re welcome to delete the new profile after you’re done testing as well).

Additionally, I’ve updated your user settings here on Community and you should now be able to upload the screen recording.
