Vertical tabs not showing after hovering over the toolbar

Description of the issue: When I have my tabs set to be vertical and set to be hidden completely when minimized, if I hover over the toolbar at the top of the screen, then try to hover over the side of the screen my vertical tabs are set to, the tabs don’t expand.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave Browser

  2. Hover mouse over toolbar

  3. Hover mouse to side of screen where your vertical tabs are set to

Expected result: Hidden vertical tabs should expand.

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.88.138

Additional Information: You must be in fullscreen. Temporary fix forces you to click inside the window you’re currently in after hovering over toolbar to see tabs.

@MythicalMuso thank you for the detailed report.
It does look like I can reproduce this but not every time. It’s hard to tell what exactly determines whether or not the issue will occur. I’ve opened this issue on our Github for review:

Thank you! I think it depends on what you actually hover over after a successful expansion, namely the relation between the page and the toolbar. For example when I hover my mouse within the vertical tabs, if I slide my cursor up to the toolbar without hovering in the page, it won’t trigger the bug; I can go back and forth between the toolbar and tabs as long as the process is something like Page > Tabs > Toolbar > Page > Tabs etc. But if I try Page > Toolbar > Tabs > Page etc, or Page > Toolbar > Page > Tabs etc, the bug activates.
