Sync is not linked to Rewards. It is only for bookmarks and other settings.
You need to send a request to unlink your old devices. See instructions in the following post.
The good news is that device limit will be removed in one of the coming versions. So, an alternative is to keep accumulating the rewards in your new devices until the limit is removed, and then you can link them to your account.
