uBlock Origin 'Block element...' context menu item appears twice in Brave macOS

Description of the issue:

Since recent updates (presumably for Manifest V2), the ‘Block element…’ context menu item appears twice for me in Brave for macOS.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Have uBlock Origin plugin installed prior to Brave (macOS) update incorporating Manifest V2.

  2. Open a page.

  3. Right-click on an element to open the context menu.

  4. 2 uBlock Origin ‘Block element…’ menu items may be visible.

Expected result:

Only 1 ‘Block element…’ menu items should be visible.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Brave 1.93.137 (Official Build) (arm64)

Chromium: 151.0.7922.169

Additional Information:

I assume the issue is to do with the recent update to Brave with Manifest V2. uBlock Origin was already installed prior to Brave updating.

I recently reported an issue where the update reset and lost my uBO settings: uBlock Origin settings reset after updating Brave. I’m wondering if there may be 2 instances of uBO installed and active?

Just to update this, I suspect this might have been caused by having 2 uBO extensions installed: my original, pre-MV3 extension and Brave’s own implementation of uBO activated after the recent MV3 update. Disabling the pre-MV3 extension eliminates duplicate uBO items etc.
