Twitch not working when embeded on a different sites such as cytube, works fine on other browsers

Description of the issue:
For a few weeks now there has been an issue with Twitch playback on websites such as Cytube. When the twitch player is embeded, it will only display a black window. The player will work fine if Popout Player is used.

This issue does not occur on other browsers I have tried, such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Create a room on https://cytu.be/
  2. Embed any live livestream from Twitch.tv
  3. Observe black screen

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

When popout window is used

Expected result:
Playback from Twitch player functions correctly
Reproduces how often:
100% of the time
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Windows 10 - Brave version v1.80.122 (Jul 16, 2025)
Additional Information:
Tried on multiple devices, got the same report from other people I know who also use Brave.

Trying to test on my end and having some issues just trying to add the embed to the site. Can you share an example embed link you’ve used so I can test?

Actually it looks like the following pull request will fix the issue with Twitch embeds:

Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply.

For testing purposes, please feel free to try on the following channels:

Please note creating an account may be needed if embeding is not permitted.

Do you need another example?

  1. open https://rtirl.com/
  2. Click on a streamer
  3. Click on “watch (streamername)”

On the right-hand side, the stream and chat opens.
The video player and its controls (play/pause, volume, title, category, …) are visible (if you mouse-over), but the screen is black.

same behavior on Inkognito.

I’m on Brave v1.180.122
Chromium: 138.0.7204.157
OS: Win 11
