Turn off Leo ai permanently

I care about privacy, but that is a minor side issue here. This applies both to windows and android browser.

The problem is: 1) the toggle settings in the actual browser will not stay. As soon as I put in another search AI is back on and has put its response at the top of the page where I can’t avoid it. (Also the country setting will only give results after first searching with the setting it arbitrarily uses, then clicking the country you want to search. Even then, with the next search, the country has reverted again.)

There is no appearance setting to stop showing the icon, show autocomplete…ai…is off, show ai in search bar is off. It doesn’t do anything.

The problem with telling everyone to make changes only people with long tech experience understand (in this group or by Leo) is that people break things, which is expensive, time consuming, and distressing.

Right now my distrust and grief over digital technology designs bullying me is distressing to the point I’d rather do many other things than use it ever.

I need the search bar to to list the most relevant websites without Leo’s input. Leo is interesting sometimes, but I want the control to see it only when and where I ask for it. It is not good for my thought process to have it up front and center obscuring the web results. Also, it is often so, so, so, so wroooong. It will give instructions in the wrong order. I know the disclaimer is there, but I would rather not see ai at all. Mozilla misses me and is about to delete my settings. I don’t know what’s going on over there and maybe I should check in.

Additionally, it doesn’t show me if it has saved data, but provides the ability to delete it, so I delete all the time just in case.

Also, ai is really bad for the environment. I’d rather it be used only for practical scientific research that serves the wellbeing of all.

p.s. Putting -AI doesn’t work and we shouldn’t have to anyway.
