+1 as well. Really dislike the new design and would consider changing browser entirely, would this become the default without an ability to change it.

chrome://flags/#brave-horizontal-tabs-update can no longer be disabled as of v1.68.128 (Chromium 127.0.6533.73), can we please get some solution to this issue? P.S. there is a dead space above the tabs row now.

My main issue with the new design is the amount of height that it use.

So i came up with a proposal for the new tab design that most uf us might agree with / could live with.
