The option to block ALL cookies

This is just a basic option that many simpler browsers have. And I think this is a must-have in a privacy-focused browser like Brave.

The only options we currently have are as follows:

Block 3rd party cookies (which is not the case)

Make the browser clear all the data everytime it closes, which deletes cookies, but everything else with it. (The option I’m currently using, but loosing my history all the time is giving me a hard time)

Block cookies for a specific website, making you have to go to the settings of every website you visit and blocking the cookies there.

The feature that I’m requesting seems to be very simple. An option to “block all cookies” together with the options “block 3rd party cookies” or “allow all cookies”.

Best regards.

Oops:

November 2024

Brave is deprecating the “block all cookies” global Shields option. We will continue to support the ability to block all cookies on a per-site basis.

We’ve observed that the “block all cookies” global toggle provides insufficient privacy protection and a false sense of security while causing maximal breakage. Malicious trackers on the Web use a wide range of profiling techniques that use all sorts of state, not just cookies. This is why Brave partitions all network state by default. For users who really don’t want websites to set any kind of data whatsoever, we already offer a site setting called On-device site data that controls all storage (not just cookies), which is a more comprehensive privacy protection.

How to bring back the Block All Cookies option > On Deskop and Android:

Go to brave://settings/content/siteDataand select Don't allow sites to save data on your device.

Alternatively, you can also enable brave://flags/#brave-block-all-cookies-toggle

Thanks for the info @289wk but this is an Android feature request, not desktop. I know using desktop that’s possible, but not on mobile devices.

EDIT: Thank you so much! I’ve enabled the flag, and now the option is there. Much appreciated.
