Tab Pop out Feature is Broken

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Moving tabs between each other causes the tab to pop out automatically

  2. Popped-out tabs cannot be inserted into an existing browser window (at least on MacOS 26.1)

  3. Reordering or shifting tabs from their default position causes them to pop out without the ability to return them to their original position.

Expected result: Tabs should be reorderable within a browser window, with the minimum cursor drag distance from the tab bar for popping out tabs being greater than zero pixels. Also, tabs should be insertable into an existing window with tabs, instead of hovering over the window’s tab bar.

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.86.101

Additional Information: Browser windows also require multiple clicks to interact with when switching between them, though I’m unsure if this is a bug with the latest version of Apple’s Stage Manager. The windows grey out as though I’m clicking on a different application, so I have to click on them multiple times.

Not seeing this on my end using Brave Beta 1.86.101 – also on macOS 26.1:

Could potentially be related to an extension you have installed, if any. Also are you using the vertical tabs layout or horizontal?

Well, I’m using horizontal tabs. As for the extensions I have run at various points recently, I have a screenshot attached here, with all of them activated. None of these were having issues previously, but perhaps they received an update?

Yeah I would recommend disabling them and testing to see if the behavior persists. If it does, you can reenable them one at a time and find the offending extension.
