Stock widget on home-screen

One big reason for why I use Brave Browser is the home-screen features such as the adblocking stats, the simplistic time layout, the news and the beautiful background images, though it’s missing something which many browsers have, and it’s a stock widget.

Apple iOS allows you to put a stock widget and track certain stocks on your home-screen and Windows 10/11 allows you to do the same thing on the bottom left side of your taskbar, it’s something that has potential to be a useful widget for whenever a user opens a new tab.

Brave Browser already has a fantastic widget system for news, allowing users to see a daily news update based on their chosen sources and topics which is a feature that I use every day and truly love, it keeps me in the know about many new stories which I would have not regularly known about as I just like many others don’t have a routine of checking news manually.

A big part of news is finance and business, however despite the news widget being great at informing users of general news, it doesn’t allow the user to track certain stock prices and big movements in the market. I believe since Brave has already made Brave Wallet and works with the BAT cryptocurrency, it makes logical sense for many users to be more interested in crypto / stocks, which is why I believe that this feature would be loved by many of the community.

In my opinion, I believe that a way for it to be implemented is allowing the user to click through a handful of popularly traded stocks, such as $TSLA, $APPL, $NVDA and so on, along with a second tab for crypto, with the same thing, allowing the user to track coins like $BTC, $BAT, $DOGE and $ETH, I believe that an additional feature which may be great is linking it to the Brave Wallet by allowing the user to also track how their $BAT is doing compared to when they first earnt it.
