Description of the issue: Startup pages duplicating after restart of browser How can this issue be reproduced?
Close browser with x on far right.
Open browser again
Set startup pages will now be duplicated and with each closure of browser another set of startup pages will be added each time
Expected result: Closing and reopening browser should reset set of startup pages, not add another set on top of the ones it had open already
Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.80.120
Additional Information: If you close each tab individually, eventually causing browser to totally close and then open it again, it will then open up with the correct number of startup pages
Wondering if you have any extensions installed at this time that might be causing this? Testing on my end, I set my browser on Windows to launch and open brave.com and community.brave.com. I close the browser, relaunch and it opens to only those two pages.
@a2j32 can you please try creating a new browser profile (Menu --> More tools --> Add profile) and ensure the setup is similar and see if you get the same behavior in the fresh profile?
So something in your main profile is causing this issue. As I mentioned before, extensions can often cause issues even if they are disabled. Can you tell me which ones you have installed at this time?
That sure is a lot. Hard to tell but the ones that stand out to me with respect to this issue might be the Chromebook recovery utilityChrome Remote desktop and any Tampermonkey scripts you may have running at this time.
If you change your On Startup setting in brave://settings/getStarted to Continue where you left off and leave some tabs open, then close/relaunch the browser, are those tabs duplicated as well? Or does it just relaunch and appear exactly the same as when you close it?
I also just checked that when I have it set to specific page(s), it also duplicates any other pages that were open as well, not just the specific set ones.
I didn’t get a chance to try your last idea, but it is back to working again normally, I guess there must have been an update to it or something. Thanks for your help.
