"Something went wrong" error connecting BAT account to Solana address

Briefly describe your issue:
I’m trying to connect my Brave Rewards profile to a Solana address to create a BAT account (Connect account → Create BAT account → sign message → confirm Solana address). The signature transaction succeeds (a small SOL fee was deducted from my wallet), but immediately after I get the error: “Something went wrong - There was an unexpected error and we weren’t able to finalize the connection. Please try again.” I have retried multiple times with the same result, each retry deducting a small SOL fee without completing the connection. I found a related GitHub issue (brave/brave-browser #48902) describing this same generic error appearing instead of a clearer “Device Limit Reached” message when Solana linking limits are exhausted — not sure if it applies to my case, but symptoms match.

What Operating System and Brave version are you using? (Menu → About Brave)
macOS, Brave 1.91.180 (Official Build) (arm64), Chromium 149.0.7827.201

None — attempting to connect directly via Solana address, no custodian

Are you in a supported region? (see here for list of supported regions)
Yes, Italy is a supported region.

Yes, you’ve likely hit the device limit and will need to use a new SOL address to connect to Rewards. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks!
