Briefly describe your issue:
I’m trying to connect my Brave Rewards profile to a self-custody Solana address using Brave Wallet. After selecting the address and signing the connect message, the page immediately shows “Something went wrong — There was an unexpected error and we weren’t able to finalize the connection. Please try again.” The signature completes successfully in the wallet. brave://rewards still shows no connected payout account, and rewards-internals shows Rewards state: Not connected.
What Operating System and Brave version are you using? (Menu --> About Brave)
macOS — Brave [Brave 1.94.121 (Official Build) (arm64)]
Which Solana wallet are you connecting?
Brave Wallet (newly created in this browser, not imported)
What is your declared region? (see here for list of supported regions)
PK
Rewards payment ID:

Rewards profile created at:

Do you have sufficient SOL for the ATA creation fee?
Yes — balance is 0.007 SOL at the address I’m trying to connect.
Steps to reproduce:
- brave://rewards > Connect account
- Select self-custody / Brave Wallet
- Choose Solana address > Next
- Sign the connect message in the wallet
- Signature succeeds, page immediately shows “Something went wrong”
What I’ve already tried:
- Restarted the flow cleanly from brave://rewards multiple times (not reloading the connect URL) — same error every time
- No VPN or proxy active
- Confirmed sufficient SOL at the address
- Also attempted earlier with MetaMask, same error
I have not reset my Rewards profile. Could someone check whether this is failing server-side for my profile, or whether I need to use a completely fresh Solana address? Happy to provide the Solana address privately if needed.
