If you want the default ‘new tab’ behaviour to stay inside the group:
- Go to Settings>System>Shortcuts
- Search for “new tab”
- Disable the Ctrl+T shortcut for the default ‘New tab’ function
- Set Ctrl+T as the shortcut for the ‘New tab to the right’ function
