really a pitty the flags have been removed due to that article and you need to rely on an extra addon.
I am using “Auto Tab Discard” https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/auto-tab-discard/jhnleheckmknfcgijgkadoemagpecfol/reviews
but the internal suspension of Chrome/Brave is still kicking in from time to time.
