Scrolling gets stuck sometimes

Description of the issue: Sometimes when scrolling the website, website freezes, then unfreezes and scrolling jumps down or up a bit. I dont know if its scrolling that freezes or something else, then unfreezes. Ive had this bug for a very long time. This bug also happens when scrolling up from the bottom in about:flags page.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open up a website https://duunitori.fi/tyopaikat/alue/varsinais-suomi?order_by=date_posted

  2. Browse down, notice how while scrolling the website freezes and stops scrolling, website unfreezes, scrolling jumps down a bit

Expected result: Scrolling should not freeze

Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave - Nightly 1.90.48, Chromium 146.0.7680.80

Same issue here. One common thing is Samsung. I’ve read all over this, and pinch-zoom problems, most of them, appear on Samsung phones (mostly newer models, S24 upwards).

Wow, I just cleared browser cache and data, then installed the latest bravemonoarm64.apk from github. And scrolling seems really smooth. Lag in about:flags is all gone.

Yes, I have the same problem as in the op.

ColorOS 16. After so many updates, this still hasn’t been fixed…It’s a shame for such a big company in the browser world.

Also, recently in the latest update, my address bar stopped hiding.

Try clearing cache and data, to test if it fixes it. It fixed my lag completely.

I have the same issue. I cleared chache, data and uninstalled the app. It still happens.

Samsung J7 (2016) AND Samsung A26.

Crazy that it happens on two phones that are 10 years apart!

This is weird because in my case the lag/stutters disappeared after I cleared cache/data, I didnt even uninstall Brave. Maybe its because Im using Incognito mode always, so that browser history doesnt fill up my phone. Maybe its browsing history that is getting corrupted and that is causing these lag spikes and stutters? Although I also had these issues in Incognito mode, this is a hard one. Or maybe this is related to sync, maybe something that you have synced is corrupted? If you have the same issue in both devices, sync might be the culprit.

I dont use sync.

It seems that when i clear cache that then the extrem freeze still occurs, but after more time has elapsed.

I use firefox for now, this issue is so annoying!

Can anyone here encountering this issue still please tell me whether or not this scrolling issue occurs for specific sites or if it occurs on all sites? If specific sites, can you please share the URLs for those sites so we can test on our end?

Well in my case this happened in the job searching site (link in the first post), but I havent been able to reproduce this bug after clearing cache/data. But this bug also happened in chrome://flags when scrolling up slowly from the bottom, so thats a good place to start.
