I am using Android 11 but it was working.
I have reset my phone and suddenly it stopped working.
When I open YouTube or any video website it shows error like "Brave Keep stopped#
And then.popup show that clos app or wait.
Just updated to 1.77.101 (on OxygenOS/Android 14) and so far it seems to be working correctly. Will update if not.
EDIT: Nope. Still broken. Seemed like it worked briefly.
Not sure why this browser can’t do what all other major browsers can, even chrome which uses much of the same code. Someone made a change that is driving people away from this browser, and nobody seems to know what that change is.

this also happens to me on android 14, to solve i just open new tab and back to previous tab and it solved
I installed Brave precisely for its ability to stream YouTube in the background without ads, but for the last month or so it became unusable - both videos and streaming radio pause constantly, I have to refresh the tabs and then often look for the place where I left off. The problem does not appear in Chrome so it’s not my internet connection’s fault.
If you enable Experimental list in brave://adblock does that help? Also test in private window mode.
So is this working for anyone yet? I’ve worked in tech support on and off throughout the years, and silence often means that the customer got what they needed. But it would be good to know if anyone has installed a version recently that fixed the issue.

I am still having this issue. Is there any solution? I have the latest version installed and I tried clearing the apps cache and it is still dimming and turning off the screen when I watch YouTube videos

Same issue for me.
Intermittently screen dims then locks while watching a video full screen.
Sometimes resolves if I fully exit the app then open it again.
OS: Android 15

Still no fix? Thas REALLY annoying bug

Mostly playing Youtube
Same problem, need to touch screen every 2 minites. 2 minutes is set in system settings for screen turn of.
@kenobi36 are you seeing this in other browsers outside of Brave on your Galaxy device?
No problem with youtube in chrome browser. Plays over 3 minutes
And no problem with youtube in Opera. Tested over 3min.
