“Scan Sync Code” Button Doesn’t Exist; Cannot Scan to Sync

First, the dark theme wasn’t the issue but good call out. It was worth checking. And, I was able to remove the sync chain. I thought I reached a solution. But, no. The problem now is syncing between 2 desktops and 1 mobile (ios).

I finally arrived at a solution, but it was counter-intuitive and a tremendous pain it the a**. The functional design team really needs to rethink this workflow.

  1. I wiped the chains from each device.
  2. Started a new chain on desktop A.
  3. Copied the sync code to desktop B (which finally displayed “I have a code”)
  4. Lastly, I added mobile to desktop A sync chain.
Wow. What an unbelievably poor UX. I love this browser. So I’ll let this slide. But if I were on the fence about using it, this just might have been the deal-breaker.

I also found a reproducible crash during this adventure. I’ll post that in a separate thread.

New User. I had a sync chain with desktops (2), laptop and IPhone. I had to reset one desktop and reinstall all applications (not due to Brave, but other issue). I reinstalled Brave and have tried to sync the devices. I see the codes on all devices but there is no where where I see “I have a sync code” on ANY of the devices. Thus cannot add the “reset” desktop to the chain. What to do?
