its explained quickly: reddit started adding a local translation parameter to their URLs.
example for German “/?tl=de”.
when searching for something and a reddit post shows up with this parameter, the post gets translated. This is especially bad, because many posts get translated wrong.
It would be very nice if Brave Search could remove those parameters from the search results in the first place.
I have the same suggestion. While I understand its usefulness, I mostly get English reddit posts autotranslated to Spanish, and I don’t want that.
I think this feature should be deleted, or have a toggle in the search engine to enable/disable it. It could even be further configured by language or site, but a binary toggle to remove the query ?tl parameter may be enough.
I fully support this suggestion. I’ve also noticed that Reddit links with translation parameters (like ?tl=de) often lead to poorly translated content, which ruins the original context of the post. It would definitely improve the user experience if Brave Search could clean up these URLs by removing the ?tl= parameter automatically.
