# Recovering bookmarks after crash

**Description of the issue:**  
My drive crashed, I bought a new SSD and installed windows 10 on it. However, I recovered my user folder and all it’s contents. **I want to restore my brave browser Bookmarks** and upload them into brave on the new Windows 10 machine.  
Are they stored somewhere in the User Data folders?  
I’ve attached a snip of what that folder looks like:

Something else that you can try is to add your browser to a brave sync chain. This allows you to sync bookmarks and more across devices, but also stores them with a passphrase. Give that a try once you recover them!
