I have around ~20,000 tabs opened in the Android Browser, either a group of ~2000 tabs or just hundreds of tabs opened without any groups in a row of similar website, and before anybody asks…
Yes, all of them are crucial.
No, I will not group ungrouped tabs
No, I will not mass close them.
No, favoriting all of them is terrible idea
Description of the issue: the implemented Brave Sync, which is based on terrible Google Sync, is just a godawful. It doesn’t save the groups, tabs (and preferable cache also) in it’s chronological order. What I need is some basic Tabs + Group backup save feature AND option to share ALL the tabs + groups on the new phone. But what is crucial is that I need ALL of these tabs\groups to be:
-
all groups have all of the tabs in them in proper order as they are on the current phone
-
both groups and tabs are in their position order as they are on the current phone
-
neither groups and tabs change their position and remain exactly the same as they are on the current phone
-
extra quality of life feature that isn’t very super necessary but still important - it would be neat if it also save the cache of each tab “last time visited screenshot” in the list to know what the tab is all about, as they are on the current phone.
The ChatGPT and other AI suggest that I should just favorite all of the tabs, groups, etc, and use “Brave Sync”, but this will shuffle all of the links in a huge incomprehensible mess 100% of time and that’s the exact thing I want to try to avoid. So I beg you on knees, PLEASE have a proper Sync feature that can save, load and share all of the tabs AND their proper order, by simply copying the com.brave.browser/app_tabs folder and either share between different phone or simple save it on your phone as an file that you can load later on and share between other people. It doesn’t need to save\share the cookies.
Sadly, I never had installed root on my phone, and this is my biggest mistake… Otherwise I would have just copied whole brave folder like I can do with PC Chrome folder to save everything perfectly.
>inb4 what is the usecase?
Stress relief, baldness prevention and 20 years of life saved with this simple quality of life feature, plus feeling yourself safe knowing that you have a backup with all of your tabs in case something goes wrong and some bug cause you lose all of the tabs.
Operating System and Brave Version: Funtouch OS 14 the latest version of brave from the Google Play. (1.91.180)
Extra note. The primary reason I decided to make thread now is that recent update made by Brave on phone lag A LOT. I don’t know why, but latest version of Brave also removed all the necessary flags that I believe cause the lag.
I downloaded Brave around January or Februrary 2026 and been avoiding updates since then like fire in fear of situation like this, but a F****** google play updated my brave WITHOUT my permission, EVEN though I disabled the autoupdate in google play…
Before the update everything did work just fine, now it takes like 10 to sometimes 30 seconds to switch between a single tab as opposed 0.5-1 second before I updated the brave, and now it’s more prone to crash if I switch tabs too quick. I want to do downgrade my brave but I am deadly afraid it will mess something up and I’d lose the ~20000 tabs…
