Playlist Not Saving Offline Data

The playlist setting isn’t saving any more videos’ offline data for me. It doesn’t even give me the option to for some reason. I don’t know if this is like a minor bug that’s happening with the Playlist setting, or if it’s not saving anything else because I’m on a crappy iPhone 12 and Apple hates anything good.

I doubt it’s the storage since I have 37.52 Gigabytes of storage left, apparently. But I could be wrong and Apple’s just full of crap.

Thanks to you kind folks for working so hard on this browser, by the way. I have a dedicated playlist to help me fall asleep…well, whenever, basically. During the past year or so I had a playlist of videos to watch during lunch break at school because their wifi sucked.

Brave no longer saves files offline for videos added to playlist. There is no option showing in settings under playlist to make files automatically download and no option to force a file to download when long-pressing from the playlist menu

Yeah so the short of this is that Apple required Brave to remove offline playback for Playlist on iOS in order to remain on the App Store. I believe their justification is that downloading user’s content and/or potentially copyrighted content violates something in their ToS. We’re currently appealing Apple’s decision and hope that we’ll be able to restore this functionality to Playlist in the future.
