Pdf files are always downloaded twice

Description of the issue:

Any pdf I download from any site will be downloaded twice, and I end up with two versions of it on my phone. This is the only file format with which it happens, from what I can reckon.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Click on the download link for any online pdf file
  2. Observe on the file manager that there is an extra “<filename> (1)” pdf

Reproduces how often:
Always, as far as I can remember.

Brave Version:
1.0.77

Mobile Device details
Samsung Galaxy J5 (SM-J500F) with LineageOS 15.1

Android/iOS Version
Android 8.1

Is it same behaviour with stock Chrome browser as well?

Damn, I forgot to check that. Yeah, it is. Non-Chromium-based browsers work fine, though, which means this is upstream. Sorry for the trouble.
