Brave 1.82.170 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Chromium: 140.0.7339.186

In my case:

Brave 1.85.120 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Chromium: 143.0.7499.192

4 months later and this problem persists, is this going to be addressed any soon?

I like Brave but it’s annoying and even hinders my job as a developer sometimes.

Which platform?
Doesn’t happen on my device (Windows 11 25H2)
Same build-
Brave 1.85.120 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Chromium: 143.0.7499.192

Also Windows 11 25H2 with the latest updates.

I also tried disabling all extensions in case some of them could cause the problem, but doesn’t seem to be the case.

Okay, I did some test and the problem is actually there, only it does not happen on ‘every’ website.
The behavior is actually similar to other Chromium browsers. Perhaps they do not immediately release the tab from memory while reloading.
I opened a single tab in Edge, kept on reloading it till the memory usage exceeds 1 GB, then wait, Edge brings the memory usage to about 550 MB within 15-20 seconds you stop reloading.
Did the same in Brave, memory consumption didn’t dropped below 1 GB even after several minutes.
They should look into this.
Sharing a screenshot of Brave’s task manager after reloading this current page several times and then waiting ~5 minutes. The memory consumption of the tab did not decrease as it should (and did in Edge).
