Currently, pinned tabs are always placed on the far left of the tab bar. While this follows Chromium’s default behavior, it would be helpful to have more flexibility in how pinned tabs are positioned.
Specifically, I’m looking for an option to place pinned tabs on the right side of the tab bar instead of the left.
Use case:
-
I tend to treat pinned tabs more like “persistent utilities” (e.g., music, messaging, dashboards), rather than primary navigation tabs
-
Having them on the right would keep them accessible but visually separated from my active browsing flow
-
It would also better match workflows for right-handed users or setups where attention is focused toward the right side of the screen
Possible implementation ideas:
-
A simple toggle in settings:
- “Pinned tabs position: Left / Right”
-
Or a more flexible tab bar customization system
I’m aware that vertical tabs can be moved, but that changes the layout of all tabs rather than just pinned ones.
Thanks for considering this. I think it would be a small but meaningful usability improvement ![]()
