Omnibar behaviour made worse with latest update

Hello,

Similar to what Firefox did months or years ago, the omnibar (url display + search) behaviour has been changed to make it worse.

Worse in every possible way.
Absolutely nothing justify a UI focus on a component users already use on a daily basis (or else, they shouldn’t use a browser).

It’s already complicated to stop this behaviour : clicking everywhere (inside then outside), press Tab, press Escape => hard to know what works really.

Can’t access bookmarks toolbar now : the enlargement makes it impossible to click on any bookmark.

Can’t already type in the bar when opening a new tab : focus is not already in the bar, hence requiring a supplementary action from the user to type a URL or do a search.

Lacking several features (like a password generator) but “wasting” time to do that is questionable.

Hope someone from Brave will read that.

@v01dv01d AFAIK we haven’t made any changes to the address bar recently.

I’m sorry but I do not quite understand what actually issue you’re referring to here is.

Again I’m not sure what you mean here – the bookmarks toolbar is left unchanged for the last several updates, including size and functionality:

Focus is in the address bar when opening a new tab – using either the keyboard shortcut or the new tab button.
