Using a standard desktop computer keyboard with “Num Lock” not selected, the associated delete button does not work in Brave. It works with other browsers and all other programmes. The other keys associated with Num Lock (eg arrow keys) work OK.

[Brave 1.88.136 (Official Build) (64-bit)](https://brave.com/latest/)

Chromium: 146.0.7680.164

Ubuntu 24.10

More details might help Brave Support.

- Gnome / KDE / etc. ?
- Keyboard model

Over at the upper-right corner of the browser window, there is a “layered” 3-horizontal-lines, “hamburger” icon ← click on that, to get a lengthy pop-down menu. Scroll down that menu and select `More Tools`. An associated pop-up window will display. Select `Open Guest Profile` and test.

Also test with `Num Lock` enabled.

Just winging it, here …

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to: `brave://flags` and search for `keyboard` ← There is at least 1 experimental setting that you might test.

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to: `brave://settings/system/shortcuts` and search for commands or shortcuts that might somehow have been adjusted/created, that might interfere.

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to: `brave://settings/content` and there, look for:

- `USB devices` and set that to `Don't allow sites to connect to USB devices`
- `File editing` and set that to `Don't allow sites to edit files or folders on your device`

Thanks for your suggestions.

Selecting Guest Profile opens a private window. Behaviour unchanged. With NumLock selected the Del key produces a full stop as expected.

There were only two keyboard flags - neither seemed relevant

I couldn’t find anything relevant in shortcuts so reset all to defaults. No difference.

In settings/content I changed the permissions as suggested. No change

I closed and reopened Brave. Same behaviour.

I can confirm, on Ubuntu with Brave, numpad DEL indeed is broken, but does work on Firefox. (Did not test Chrome). This is at least with Ubuntu’s default DE _as shipped_.

On my keyboard, numpad DEL is the only Delete key I actually have (Model F XT from 1981).

I decided to try a few things further.

1. KDE is also affected, so it doesn’t seem to matter what DE is used.
2. Chromium 146.0.7680.164 is ALSO affected.

It’s a Chromium side issue it seems. (My guess it’s Chromium vs Wayland vs keyboard scancode mapping).

Thanks for the info. It’s obviously nothing wrong at my end.
